Smooth, hydrated skin depends on Hyaluronic Acid (HA), a natural “water-loving” molecule found in the skin. HA holds in moisture, keeping skin healthy, resilient and supple. HA also goes beyond hydration to help improve epidermal health. HA5 is the first rejuvenating hydrator that supports overall epidermal health. Unlike other topical HA serums that only temporarily hydrate the surface, HA5 is powered by VITISENSCE™ Technology—a proprietary formulation that harnesses potent antioxidants found in Vitis flower stem cells and algae extracts to support the skin’s ability to replenish its own hyaluronic acid for overall epidermal health.
ABOUT HA
HYALURONIC ACID (HA) AND YOUR SKIN.
Hyaluronic acid is a natural, "water-loving" substance found in the skin—acting as your body's natural hydrator. HA holds in moisture, keeping skin healthy, resilient, and supple. With age, the amount of HA in the skin decreases, diminishing your skin's ability to remain hydrated. Between the ages of 40-50, your skin has lost 50% of the HA it had at age 20.
HOW HA5 WORKS
Introducing a new chapter in skin hydration. HA5 supports the skin’s ability to replenish its own HA for overall skin health. HA5 has a proprietary mix of five HA forms that smooth the skin, thereby decreasing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The 5 HA's work synergistically to provide immediate smoothing and continuous hydration throughout the day.
HA5 is ideal for all skin types and the perfect complement to an existing regimen designed to prevent and combat the signs of aging.

FAQs | FORMULATION/INGREDIENTSQ: Whats the difference between a moisturizer and a hydrator? Q: What is the significance of SCE in VITISENSCE™? Q: Is HA5 Rejuvenating Hydrator oil free, fragrance free and non-comedogenic? Q: The product contains whey protein. Is it safe to use for a person with a milk allergy? It is best to determine if a patient has a true "milk allergy" versus a digestive intolerance to lactose when considering using topical cosmetic products that contain milk. The whey protein used in HA5 is derived from milk powder. Therefore a person with a history of milk or whey protein that triggers an immune response should not use this product because they may experience an allergic reaction. APPLICATIONQ: How should HA5 be applied? Q: How should HA5 Rejuvenating Hydrator be used within a regimen? Q: Is HA5 Rejuvenating Hydrator a replacement for a moisturizer? Q: How long does HA5 Rejuvenating Hydrator last? AS PART OF THE SKINMEDICA® FAMILYQ: Will HA5 Rejuvenating Hydrator work with any SkinMedica® product? Q: Will products I apply afterward still be able to work (like TOTAL DEFENSE + REPAIR)? Q: How does HA5 Rejuvenating Hydrator compare to Hydrating Complex? Q: How does HA5 Rejuvenating Hydrator address the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles compared to TNS Essential Serum®? HA5 Rejuvenating Hydrator addresses the loss of HA in the skin. Its combination of 5 HAs works immediately to smooth the skin and provide hydration throughout the day on the outer most layers of the skin. In addition, HA5 supports the skins own ability to retain hydration with VITISENSCE™ proprietary technology, a potent or "top" blend of antioxidants and peptides. TNS Essential Serum® addresses skin rejuvenation in the deeper layers of the skin to improve the appearance of skin. Both products include powerful antioxidants, but the blends are very different and are designed to work in different ways to support the skin. We recommend people use HA5Rejuvenating Hydrator with TNS Essential Serum® in their skin care regimen. GENERALQ: Does HA5 work on acne-prone skin? Q: What is the difference between dry skin and dehydrated skin? Dry skin can be genetic or a symptom of systemic disease. It is caused either by the inadequate production of oil, called sebum, or by an imbalance of fatty acids, ceramide, and cholesterol in the stratum corneum, the barrier layer of the skin. Age is also a factor in dry skin. As we get older, we experience a decline in a main hormone that triggers sebum production. Dehydrated skin still produces sebum but is temporarily dry because of various factors, including environmental effects such as a dry climate or use of harsh detergents or products on the skin. It is caused by a temporary imbalance of fatty acids and ceramides in the skins barrier layer, resulting in a temporary spike in transepidermal water loss. |
